Two locations in Maryville, Tennessee
Our Program
Infants and toddlers will be cared for using the creative curriculum model. This model is designed to meet the needs of every child. Individual lesson plans will be developed by the teachers to support the developmental needs of every student.
Pre-school education will be offered on both a full time and part time basis (part-time offered at the Central location.) Teachers in these classrooms will be highly qualified in both experience and education. This center will work with area educators to better help prepare pre-school children for a successful Kindergarten experience.

Little River Learning Center staff desire to provide your child with a constant and consistent caregiver. There may be times when your child’s teacher is absent or needs to be replaced. When this occurs the administrative staff will do their best to quickly replace your child’s teacher with a highly qualified christian educator. New teaching staff will always be trained by a qualified peer teacher or administrator. Students will be introduced to and given the opportunity to bond with the new teacher. We always take into consideration a teachers experience and desire to work with an age group. We also consider personalities and the overall dynamics of the classroom.
Children who become too old for a classroom will take part in transition activities before moving to a new classroom. These activities include but are not limited to visiting the new classroom many times prior to moving, joining new groups for special activities to get to know other students, and moving their own personal items to their new classroom.
Every child will have outdoor play for a minimum of 30 minutes per day. Children will not play outside on days of rain or if the temperature is below 39 degrees.
Teachers will develop consistent routines and schedules. Meals will be served as follows:
Breakfast 6:30 - 8:00a.m.
Lunch 10:45 - 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon snack 1:30 - 2:15 p.m.
Nap times will be scheduled based on age and lunch schedules. Toddler and pre-school children will nap between the times of 11:30 and 2:30 and will rest for a minimum of 1 hour. Infants will eat and sleep on demand.
Behavior management will be consistent and age appropriate. Students will be taught to take responsibility for their actions and consequences will be relative to children’s behavior. Time-out will be used as a last resort measure for children who can not control their own behavior. Children who must be placed in time-out will stay one minute per year of age. Praise will be used often and positive discipline modeled in every classroom.
Curriculum will be locally designed based on a cumulative effort of teachers, administrators, and parents as well as that of corporately developed curriculums that will be purchased. This center will develop plans based on a monthly thematic approach to academic learning. Individual lesson plans will be developed to meet the needs of every child. Progress reports and developmental assessments will be sent home three times per year.
We appreciate the opportunity to care for your child. We will do our best to provide an enjoyable daily experience through the teachings of God’s word and through love and respect for one another, all accomplished through a network of extremely capable Christian role models.
